MONDAY JUNE 2nd and 9th HELLYER COUNTY
PARK
South San Jose 9am/noon
Coyote Creek meanders through this lake side park with lots
of varieties of landscape and distant hills. Go west on Capitol
Expressway to Senter Rd.. Go right to Hellyer Ave. follow left
into park. Take right towards lake and 1st left and then follow
to end and parking lot. You should be on East side of lake.

MONDAY MAY 5TH and 12th HOME OF PATTI
HUGHES
23107 SUMMIT RD, SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS 9am/12noon
Quite Mountain Setting with Monet-like pond, old farm equipment,
barn and lots of redwoods. A personal favorite, Take Hwy17 South
to Summit Road. Go East on Summit Rd. and go left on Trail Ridge
Road (about 1 mile from Hwy17 Ä…look for rack of
mailboxes on left and club sign). Take Trail Ridge about 1/4
of a mile and look for parking lot in redwood grove on right.
Orange cone will mark the parking area.
MONDAY MAY 19th and 26th DAVENPORT CALIF.
9.5 Miles North of Santa Cruz 9am till------
New site for us which offers industrial (cement Plant) Coastal
cliffs/Ocean and monterey pines, small but historical and weathered
downtown and coffee house and restaurants for after a fun day
of painting. Take Hwy 1 north from Santa Cruz to Davenport.
Lets meet in the coffee house parking lot till we get our bearings.

MONDAY, APRIL 7th and 14th ALUM ROCK PARK
San Jose 9am/12noon
125 year old park with creek, stone bridges with old
trees and nice
landscape. Take Penitencia Creek Road off Capitol Expressway.
Go east
into park and park near the ranger station. Bring a lunch and
enjoy the
park. possible fee
MONDAY APRIL 21st and 28th MISSION SAN JUAN BAUTISTA –
9am to Lunch
Our return visit to this Historical Mission Town. 19th century
buildings, Mission and Grounds to paint. Take 101 south ,well
past
Gilroy to Highway 156. Go South 3 miles to the Mission San Juan
Bautista Turn 0ff. Follow to end and go right to Plaza Green
in front
of Mission, Allow 1 hour for Travel.

Morning Rotary is planning Plein Air Art Fest 2009.
Open to all plein air artists in the West. Spread the word to
reserve the date and come paint in Los Gatos.
AND...this event does not occur annually, yet the artist's regarded
the inaugural event of 2004 as welcoming and hospitable.

BOAT HARBOR Santa Cruz

Boat harbor, Carraige house, grand oaks and a nearby beach and
light house. Bring quarters to feed parking meter and lunch
money for
fun eating. Take Highway 17 to Santa Cruz. Go to end of Ocean
Ave and
go left on East Cliff Dr. go Right on Sea Bright and left on
Atlantic
Ave. At end turn left into Harbor parking lot. Park on far left.
MONDAY, MARCH 17th and 24th MCLELLAN RANCH PARK, CUPERTINO
9am/12noon
Working ranch with old water tower, barns, out buildings.
beautiful treelined creek setting and meadow. Tale 85 west to
DeAnza
Blvd.. go right to McClellan Rd.Take a left and go 2 miles till
you see
golf course on left. Take a right here into park.
MONDAY, MARCH 31 Guadalupe Oak Grove Park, Almaden Valley
Paint between rocks and a hard place; old limestone quarry,
large oak
grove, meadows, hiking trails and hilltop views! Take Almaden
Blvd.
South to Coleman. Go right, then left on Porto Alegra, right
on
Thorntree and right on Sterling Oak Dr. to Park entrance.
February 2008
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4th and 11th.
COYOTE CREEK TRAIL off Monterey Rd.
South of San Jose
This site is part of the Southern Coyote Creek Trail systems.
It offer lake and creek settings plus views of the hills on
both side of the valley. This is also home to the Santa Clara
County Model Aircraft Skypark Take 85 to 101 to Bailey and left
on Monterey Rd. Barnhart Ave is the rd. Between the huge electrical
towers and as you travel south you will need to make a u-turn
back to Barnhart turn right and follow the road around to the
Airport parking lot.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18th and 25th VILLA
MONTALVO SARATOGA
9am/12noon
Once grand estate of Senator Phalen, Villa Montalvo
offers a
quite setting to paint a Mansion surrounded by formal gardens.
Take
Montalvo Road off Saratoga Los Gatos Road and follow it around
to the
end. Meet in parking lot #3 to left of Mansion.
January 2008
MONDAY, JANUARY 7th and 14th
WILDER STATE PARK, SANTA CRUZ
Recent site enjoyed by all. Well maintained historic ranch with
old adobe, victorian house and lots of barns and out buildings
plus great surrounding coastal landscape. Take Hwy 1 towards
Davenport a couple of Miles out of Santa Cruz and the Park entrance
will be on Left. The address is 1401 Old Coast Road. Fee
MONDAY, JANUARY 21st and 28th
SANTA CRUZ BOAT HARBOR, SANTA CRUZ
The back of harbor has a variety of boats some in drydock with
lots of contrasting colors do to the trees lining the hills
on both sides of inlet.We will meet here but Twin Lakes State
Beach is nearby for landscape only artist. Good eating places
as well.From Santa Cruz
go South on Hwy 1 to Soquel Ave once on Soquel Go left and a
quick
left on 7th. St. Follow 7th. down to Brommer go right and when
you get
to the Harbor take left to first available parking lot.
